Respiratory Care Services

The Respiratory Care department is a growing department at Putnam General. Our team of licensed respiratory therapists specializes in the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic respiratory problems. We work with you on meeting your needs in and out of the hospital setting.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

Putnam General Hospital's Respiratory Care Department also provides CPAP/BiPAP devices to patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). CPAP/BiPAP is the most recommended treatment for OSA. The patient is instructed by a respiratory therapist on the proper use of the CPAP or BiPAP device and is fitted with the appropriate mask and supplies. Periodic follow-ups are done by the respiratory therapist to assist with compliance, equipment maintenance, and supplies. We can also provide care and supplies for patients who currently have a CPAP or BiPAP device.

Hours Open Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., the center is staffed for both nighttime and day sleep studies when appropriate. Putnam General Sleep Center is located in the Medical wing of the hospital. To make an appointment please call 706-485-2711 Ext. 2130.
